This report is based on the translation of the first two chapters of Tourism and Innovation.These two chapters elaborate on the concept of tourism innovation and the relation of tourism,competition and innovation,which provide useful guidance for researchers,students and other people in related fields as well as high academic value.The original text,as an information-based and expressive type,mainly conveys information,as well as linguistic proficiency.The expressions and sentences demonstrated in the text are accurate,refined,fluency,vivid,logical and readable.Information can be divided into explicit information and implicit information in terms of the degree of information transfer.How to correctly translate the explicit and implicit information is the main difficult problem to be solved in this translation practice.The report mainly discusses the translation of explicit information from three aspects: proper nouns,sentence structure and metaphor.Some translation methods and skills involved,such as annotation,syntactical readjustment and image shift,can be adopted.While the translation of implicit information is mainly discussed from the three aspects of referential information,linguistic context and implicit logic.Available translation methods and skills include paraphrase,specification and addition.The author explores the corresponding translation methods in combination with specific cases,guarantees the equivalent information transfer,and reproduces the linguistic features of academic text.This report is aimed to provide references for the translation of similar texts.
