With the continuous development of higher education in China and the rise of “Chinese language fever”,there are more and more people learning Chinese in Thailand.Since the 1980 s,with the improving of Sino-Thai relations and the adjustment of Thai education policies,Chinese language education has risen in Thailand.The Chinese language curriculum has gradually incorporated the Thai teaching system.Adapting to the growing needs of people for learning Chinese,the Thai government has issued a series of policies to promote Chinese language education,conducted a series of reforms for the Chinese language teaching system,and introduced Chinese language teaching into primary education,setting up Chinese required courses in primary and secondary schools.The university set up Chinese language courses and opened Confucius Institutes to promote the spread of Chinese language in Thailand.The implementation of these policies has greatly promoted the development of Chinese language education in Thailand and the establishment and improvement of the Chinese language teaching system.Driven by the government,the status of Chinese in Thailand has gradually increased and it has become Thailand's third largest language while staying in pace with the English language.In recent years,despite the promotion of the government,and despite that Chinese language education in Thailand has developed a lot,however with the continuous deepening of Chinese language education in Thailand and the continuous deepening of the teaching field,the problems in Thai language education in Thailand are gradually exposed.The most obvious of these is the imbalance in the regional distribution of Chinese educational resources and teaching systems.Compared with major cities such as Bangkok,Chinese education in small cities and townships has great problems in terms of curriculum setting,teacher resources,and selection of teaching materials.The existence of these problems has greatly affected the overall development of Chinese language education in Thailand.How to solve the problems in Chinese education in small and medium-sized towns and cities and put forward practical and feasible solutions is a subject worthy of discussion and study.Therefore,this paper uses the Thai Sisaket Rajhabhat University as an example and hopes to analyze the existing problems in the Chinese language teaching in order to highlight the current weaknesses in the Thai language education in Thailand and the areas that need improvement to promote Chinese language development in Thailand..The first chapter of this paper analyzes the process and problems of the spread of Chinese teaching in Thailand.The second chapter focuses on analyzing the factors that affect the Thai language learning.The third chapter analyzes the problems existing in Chinese teaching in Thailand by using the Sisaket Rajhabhat University as an example.And in the fourth chapter put forward the corresponding teaching strategies.I hope this would be a reference for Chinese language education and teaching in Thailand.
