Weihai city is located in the easternmost part of the Jiaodong peninsula.Due to the special geographical location,the formation of a unique Weihai characteristics of the folk beliefs.From the perspective of social governance modernization,it is of great practical significance to study Weihai folk beliefs.As the spiritual construction of civil society,folk belief has more and more influence on the life of civil society.It is of great practical significance to further strengthen the research on folk beliefs and implement scientific and effective management to solve the spiritual and cultural problems of the people.Not only that,from the perspective of social governance modernization,the study of folk beliefs is conducive to providing operable reference for the government governance of folk beliefs.This study adopts the case study of folk beliefs in Weihai city to conduct a systematic and in-depth study on the social governance of folk beliefs.Based on the analysis of the basic situation of folk beliefs in weihai area,the folk beliefs in weihai area can be roughly divided into the following categories: belief in sea god,taboo customs,and belief in animals and plants.Among them,the most important folk beliefs are the belief system of sea god such as dragon king belief and queen mother belief.The general trend of the development of folk beliefs in weihai area at present: the structure of believers is becoming increasingly complex;The number of believers steadily increased;Activities are becoming more diverse.With the development of society,the forms of folk belief activities are also changing,and many new forms emerge at the historic moment.The social function of folk belief refers to the social influence of folk belief in ensuring the normal operation of social system.Its social function has duality.Folk beliefs play a positive role in social governance,mainly from the economic,cultural,ecological,social psychology and other aspects,such as active regional economy;Protecting the ecological environment;Participate in social education,etc.While paying attention to the positive role of folk belief,we should not ignore its negative role.Folk beliefs will affect the stability of social order;Interfering with democracy at the grass-roots level;Disseminate backward and decadent ideas,etc.Therefore,the role of folk beliefs in social governance should not be generalized,but should be comprehensively analyzed and advantages and disadvantages should be avoided.This paper makes an in-depth investigation and study on the governance of folk beliefs in weihai area,and analyzes the current governance of folk beliefs in weihai area from the perspective of multiple subjects such as the government and grass-roots organizations.Part of weihai government adheres to the principle of "protection first,rescue first,rational utilization,inheritance and development" in the governance of folk beliefs,and has achieved a series of results.The social authority of weihai takes advantage of its spontaneity,flexibility and other advantages to play an active role in the governance of folk beliefs and become an effective supplement to the authority of the state.At present,the problems existing in social governance of folk beliefs need to be solved through the following ways: return to the rational understanding of folk beliefs;Strengthening the governance capacity of believers in folk beliefs and grass-roots organizations;Change the role and concept of government governance;We will build a system and mechanism for governing by law.Further optimize the idea of governance of folk belief,make folk belief and socialist core value system adapt,and finally make folk belief become an effective means of social governance.
