Foreign studies have found that driving anger is an important factor affecting traffic safety, but there are few related researches in this field in China, and the empirical research is even less. This study revised the Driving Anger Scale(DAS)of USA and he current situation and features of driving anger among Chinese drivers were investigated by using revised DAS.Meanwhile, the self-control questionnaire and Eysenck Personality questionnaire were both used to investigate the relationship between self-control,personality and driving anger, and explores the mechanism of self-control and personality influencing driving anger to provide scientific basis for reducing d:riving anger and improving traffic safety. The results of this study show that:(1)The revised driving anger scale has good reliability and validity. There are 17 items and producing three dimensions of anger provoking situations:indirect interference, discourtesy and traffic obstructions.(2)Drivers with middle and above level driving anger accounted for 19.7%.In terms of dimensions, indirect interference dimensions accounted for 20.2%of drivers with middle and above level.Drivers with discourtesy dimensions accounted for 44.9 with middle and above level drivers.Traffic obstructions dimensions accounted for 9.1%of drivers with middle and above level. From the average point of view, the score of the discourtesy dimension is highest, the traffic obstructions dimension scores lowest.(3)There were significant differences in the dimension of indirect interference among driving age, driving skills and occupation, significant difference in the dimension of traffic obstructions among gender, significant difference in the overall driving anger and each dimension among the frequency of anger in the recent week.(4)Self-control was negatively significantly correlated with neuroticism and psychoticism.(5)Self-control was negatively significantly correlated with driving anger and its dimensions.(6)Extroversion had a significant positive correlation with the overall driving anger and indirect interference dimension, while neuroticism had a significant negative correlation with the overall and and each dimension of driving anger.(7)Self-control and neuroticism have a significant negative predictive effect on the overall driving anger and its dimensions, and self-control do have some moderating effect between neuroticism and driving anger.
