Analysis Of Behavioral Characteristics And Interventions Of Driving Anger

In recent years,among the driver-related factors of traffic accidents,the problem of driving anger is drawing more and more attention.In Chinese driver group,driving anger is a common problem,bringing very negative impacts on traffic safety and lives and property of drivers.Therefore,this paper is aimed to analyze the behavioral characteristics and interventions of driving anger,in order to help drivers identify and overcome driving anger and improve road traffic safety.For the first step,this paper summarizes the mechanism of driving anger.The definition of driving anger contains three points:negative emotion,intentional harm to other road users,and risky behaviors.Typical manifestations of driving anger include verbal aggression,body expression,and car-using expression.In driving anger events,specific triggering events often occur,and then drivers give negative response to these events,which leads to driving anger.Influencing factors of driving anger include drivers' personal factors,vehicle factors,road factors and environmental factors.Next,Chinese driver's angry expression scale is made.The revised scale retains 20 items.Principal component analysis is taken and the items are distributed into 4 common factors.The reliability(Cronbach a coefficient)of the revised driving anger scale is 0.846,and the sub-scale reliability of the various factors are in the range of 0.825-0.891.The request of the reliability test is met.Furthermore,the paper analyzes the behavioral characteristics of driving anger.Extroverted anger performance,introverted anger performance,driving behavior are of positive correlation,but self-regulation performance are of negative correlation to the three behaviors.Clustering analysis is used to classify driving anger,and the level is ranked from mild,moderate,severe,to very serious.Multiple Logistic regression model of driving anger is constructed,which can predict the probability of level of driving anger if the numbers of irregularities and accidents,and employment category of a driver are known.Finally,this paper provides interventions of driving anger and put forward suggestions that are adaptive to our country from the perspective of driver intervention,engineering design,education guidance,and legal policies.
