Prototype Explanation Of Soul And Dream Phenomenon In Yuan Zaju

Yuan Zaju occupies an important literary position in the history of Chinese literature,in these Zaju,the Zaju involving the description of soul and dream plot has prominent and distinct characteristics in the whole Zaju,these accounts for almost a quarter of Yuan Zaju operas,it is of great significance to study these part of Zaju separately in order to refine the study of Yuan Zaju.More importantly,the phenomena of soul and dream involved in these dramas are also part of the dream culture in China.Strengthening the research in this field will also contribute to the study of dream literature in China.Guided by the archetypal criticism method,this paper applies the anthropological knowledge contained therein,as well as the concepts of “mutual penetration law”,“collective representation” and “primitive thinking”,explore the Yuan Dynasty people's understanding of dream and the view of soul reflected in the phenomenon of soul and dream in Yuan Zaju,explore the characteristics of primitive thinking contained in it and the ritual prototype embodied in the plot structure of ghost description in its Zaju,comprehensive analysis and study of the cultural and psychological structure of the Yuan Dynasty society reflected by the phenomenon of soul and dream in Yuan Zaju.Finally,this paper will deeply analyze the causes of the formation of soul and dream phenomena in Yuan Zaju.The description of soul and dream phenomena in Yuan Zaju reflects the worship and infatuation of dreams in the folk society of Yuan Dynasty,and the belief of soul worship behind them,this concept is embodied in the description of soul and dream phenomena in Zaju.These Zajus created by the Zaju writers of the Yuan Dynasty embody the collective unconsciousness of the people in the Yuan Dynasty and have the characteristics of the times,the appearance of ghosts in Zaju is so frequent that it reflects to some extent the dark social reality of the Yuan Dynasty at that time.With the help of dreams and ghosts,the dramatists express their dissatisfaction and resistance to the current social situation,representing the voice of the people.Sincethe Yuan Dynasty,the description of ghosts in the dramas has become more and more mature and has become a prototype.The description of soul and dream phenomena in Yuan Zaju has distinct characteristics,which is a literary subject worthy of study.The Literary Prototype contained in it and the cultural psychological structure reflected in Yuan Dynasty are worth exploring.
