Reading is a means of obtaining information,an important part of English learning and a factor in determining the English proficiency.In recent years,the result of senior high school entrance gap has become more prominent between students in urban and rural areas,what’s more,the reading level is far from the same.Combining the effective research results of improving the level of English reading teaching.The author applies the Lexical theory to rural junior middle school English reading teaching,explores methods to improve the English reading level of rural junior middle school students and changes the backward situation of rural English teaching.This study is guided by the Lexical of theory,sixty students from the two parallel classes in grade eight of xx School in xx County were selected as experimental subjects.The homogeneity was divided into 30 classes for the control class and the experimental class.From September 3 to January 18,and a 19-week teaching experiment was conducted.In the experiment,the author strictly controlled other variables to ensure that the experimental results were caused by independent variables(conventional teaching method and chunk teaching method).After the end of the experiment,the relevant data was collected and the conclusion was drawn by the results of the questionnaires and the analysis of the English reading test before and after.The issues were discussed in this article:(1)What is the impact of the Lexical teaching method on the overall situation of English reading for rural junior high school students?(2)How does the Lexical teaching method affect the English reading level of rural junior high school students?Research indicates:(1)The Lexical teaching method can not only help students develop good reading habits,train reading strategies,but also be useful for students to improve their reading interest,enhance students’ confidence in English learning,and be good for solving the difficulties in reading.(2)The Lexical teaching method can improve the English reading scores of rural junior high school students effectively.Before the experiment,the English readingscores of the experimental class and the control class were comparable,there was no significant difference,however after one semester language teaching method and traditional teaching method teaching,after the experiment,the experimental class score was significantly higher than the control class score,and There are significant differences.This shows that the lexical teaching method can improve students’ reading performance more effectively than the traditional teaching method.Based on the above research results,this study was suggested that rural junior high school English reading teaching should help students to build a sense of chunks and also accumulate a large number of chunks.At the same time,we should enable students’ practical ability to use language.The students’ reading strategies are good for themselves and it is helpful to solve students’ English learning confusion from language thinking and make students better.We are supposed to understand reading text and improve students’ reading efficiency.Of course,this experiment also has limitations such as short experimental period and small sample size. |
