On the basis of government governance theory,Hofstead dimension theory,Maslow’s demand theory and related literature,this paper makes a preliminary study and Discussion on how to create cultural consumption demand of film industry by using quantitative analysis method.As a major component of the cultural industry,box office performance of films is affected by sequels,directors,star appeal and word of mouth signals.At the same time,the different cultural backgrounds of different countries will to some extent adjust the actual impact of the above factors on box office performance.Based on 231 films released in public from 2010 to 2017,this paper makes an empirical study and Analysis on the influencing factors of box office.The results show that directors,film reputation,star appeal and per capita disposable income all have positive effects on ticket prices,among which stars and per capita disposable income have the most significant box office effect,followed by word of mouth,directors and sequels.Most of the popular movies are war movies,while there is no significant difference in box office performance between other types of movies.With the continuous development of the film industry,the film shooting theme has become increasingly rich,and the distribution and projection mechanism has a more market-oriented atmosphere.Although love films,comedies and action movies still occupy a considerable proportion in the film market,the number of other subjects such as animated films and magic films has sprung up like mushrooms,which are deeply loved by audiences and enjoy a good reputation: The diversification of themes effectively reduces the influence of different film themes.The positive relationship between sequel and box office performance will weaken in individualistic culture,while the positive relationship between star appeal and box office performance will weaken in indulgent culture,while the influence of word of mouth on box office performance is more significant in individualistic and highly uncertain culture.In order to improve box office performance,Chinese film producers should select appropriate market signals according to the unique cultural characteristics of China.
