A Practice Report On The Simulated C-E Consecutive Interpreting Of Online Course The Safety And Science Of Drinking Water

The report is conducted on the basis of the online course---The Safety and Science of Drinking Water.The author independently carries out the practice as consecutive interpretation.During the process of interpreting,it is a major step to make analysis to deal with the difficulties and problems.Therefore,the author sets the practice of Chinese and English as a case to reflect the whole process of interpreting by analyzing and solving the problems.The author chooses the course of The Safety and Science of Drinking Water as the content of this practice and calls for all sectors of the society to pay attention to water issues.As for the online course,there is no denying that it strives to provide more free learning resources for people.Thus,we interpret the series of online course to more people.However,the author meets some challenges during the process of interpreting.According to the interpreting,some conclusions can be drawn by conducting the practice.(1)There is a large amount of terms during the speech and the sentences are very long.(2)It’s difficult to translate technical terms in the field.(3)There are many long and complex sentences in the text.She combines theory with practice and uses the note-taking,amplification and omission to deal with these problems.The object is to make the interpretation more easily accepted by audiences and be in line with the Chinese expressions.It is proved that the practice has significant meaning for the author.The author boosts her abilities in handling problems and analyzing problems in consecutive interpreting.Based on the experience,the author will have a better understanding of water resources and master the skills of interpreting the technical terms which can interpret the passages of science and technology accurately providing reference for the interpreting in her future work.
