The translator in the traditional translation studies was regarded as a "humble servant of the source text "and should be invisible in the translated works.Since the birth of Skopostheorie in the late 1970s,translation works have started to reflect translators'situations rather than the situation of translation works, which indicates that translators are of great creativity and subjectivity and translation works are mainly adapted. As for interpreters, they should also better exert their subjectivity.Political, economic as well as cultural exchanges among different countries and ethnics have been greatly influenced by the prosperous development of the interpreting activities.Interpreters,in such orally translating activity.,are required to better coordinate with the source text and the target text to greatly improve communication. However, due to some of the interpreters lacking the abilities in predicting the purpose of the comniuncation of the interpreting activity, they could not correctly interpret the information that is highly expected by the target-text receivers.Under this situation, interpreters should not overlook the purpose of the interpreting work.Otherwise, the quality of the interpreting activity as well as the mutual communication will be afected. This paper is a report of the author's field interpreting practice with functionalist theory as the guideline, aiming to analyze and solve the existing problems during the interpreting activity with the three rules being followed by interpreters:"Skopos rule","coherence rule" and "fidelity rule".This paper found that the "Skopos rule" enables interpreters to exert their subjectivity, predict the concerning and important information for target receivers in advance to better help interpreters understand the purpose of the communication and meet target receivers'demand by selecting important information in the source text;comprehensive abilities are highly emphasized in the "coherence rule".The rule is greatly related with interpreters' interpreting abilities as well as how familiar they are with different terms in a field;the "fidelity rule" can be also called“intertextual coherence" which exists between source and target texts. The "fidelity rule" is subordinate to the "Skopos rule".For the above three rules in the Skopostheorie, some requirements are put forward from this paper:interpreters should improve their abilities for using languages, constantly accumulate their knowledge to boost interpreters' abilities to better predict the purpose of the interpreting work and successfully accomplish it by using proper interpreting approaches in line with the given purpose of the interpretation.
