The rapid development of the Internet has led to computer-mediated communication(CMC)receiving more attention to the results of relationship formation.Previous studies often compare the communication of face to face and text communication mode in CMC,and the video communication mode in CMC have greatly improved in stability,synchronization and picture fidelity,but there are few studies is compared difference between text communication and video communication.In addition,the self-disclosure reciprocity of partner perceived by the individual is an important determinant factor to promote the development of the relationship in social interaction.At the same time,according to the content and time of the reciprocity,it can be divided into self-disclosure reciprocity I and self-disclosure reciprocity II,however,there are few related empirical studies.Therefore,in order to solve the above two problems,the following three studies were conducted:In study 1,using the enhance the intimacy paradigm and Relational Communication Questionnaire and so on,135 college students in Hangzhou were selected conveniently to explore the influence of CMC modes on self-disclosure,intimacy and so on.The results showed that:(1)Compared with text communication,boys’ perceptions in video communication reveal better information,enjoyment of interaction and partner perception reciprocity;(2)girls’ perceptions in text communication reveal information,enjoyment of interaction and partner perception reciprocity to a better extent than boys;(3)College students’ self-disclosure has a positive predictive effect on enjoyment of interaction and partner perception reciprocity;perceptual disclosure information has a positive predictive effect on intimacy and partner perception reciprocity.In study 2,using theLiking Scale,self-disclosure reciprocity I operation and materials in study 1,197 college students in Hangzhou were selected conveniently to explore the influence of CMC modes and self-disclosure reciprocityI on intimacy and so on.The results showed that:(1)In text communication mode,college students in the praise reciprocity group and the mutual reciprocity group have a higher level of intimacy,enjoyment of interaction and likeness than the neutral reciprocity;(2)In the neutral reciprocity group,the level of intimacy,enjoyment of interaction and likenessof the college students in video communication mode was significantlyhigher than text communication mode.(3)In text communication mode,likeness play a full intermediary role in the perceptual disclosure information and intimacy.In study 3,using theLiking Scale,self-disclosure reciprocityⅡ operation and materials in study 1,198 college students in Hangzhou were selected conveniently to explore the influence of CMC modes and self-disclosure reciprocityⅡon intimacy and so on.The results showed that:(1)In text communication mode,the level of intimacy of the college students in turn-taking self-disclosure reciprocity group is relatively high,the level of enjoyment of interaction and partner perception reciprocityof the college students in turn-taking self-disclosure reciprocity group and extended self-disclosure reciprocity group is relatively high.(2)In extended self-disclosure reciprocity group,the level of intimacy of the college students in video communication mode was significantly higher than text communication mode,In no-reciprocity self-disclosure group,the level of intimacy,enjoyment of interaction and partner perception reciprocityof the college students in video communication mode was significantly higher than text communication mode.(3)In text communication mode,likeness play a full intermediary role in the perceptual disclosure information and intimacy.In summary,college students can feel more intimacy when they communicate through CMC and face more positive self-disclosure responses.The intimate feelings of college students through CMC for text communication are different.More;when faced with non-interactive disclosure,different CMC methods have more impact on college students’ intimacy. |
