Impact Of Preparation On Interpreters' Output

Preparation is an essential work for a qualified interpreter.The quality of an interpretion mainly depends on the capacity of the interpreter and his/her preparation.There are many factors which determine the translator's level,such as listening comprehension,expression,logical analysis,short-term memory,note-taking,and background knowledge.What is equally important to a interpreter is his preparation.The case taken in this paper is the simulation conference of "The third China-France family development seminar “,in which the author is responsible for interpreting part of the opening ceremony,one speech from Chinese into French and one of a recording in French.This paper aimes at studying the influences of conference preparation and extralinguistic knowledges on the quality of interpretation,hoping to provide effective preparation guidance and coping strategies for the interpreters with Chinese-French combination.
