Study On The Political Strategies Of E-C International News Transediting Based On Skopos Theory

Under the background of globalization and the enhancement of China’s comprehensive national strength,China has developed increasingly close ties with other countries in the world.International news is one of the most important channels for China to learn about the world.E-C news transediting plays a vital role in China’s understanding of the world.Different from literature,science and technology texts,news is more focused on objectivity and timeliness.News influences people’s value and judgment,and it is a major task for news transeditors to control the quality of transedited international news.Scholars at home and abroad have studied international news transediting from various perspectives.International news transediting researches based on skopos theory also have achievements,but there are few studies on the political strategies for international news transediting.Therefore,the study on the political strategies of international news transediting under the guidance of skopos theory can help transeditors and readers improve their news acceptance.Based on skopos theory,this paper adopts the methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis.Taking transedited international news of Reference News and Global Times from August to December 2017 and its original news to establish a parallel corpus,this thesis studies the selection of news texts,the reconstruction of international news transediting and language use under the guidance of skopos theory,and uses Tmxmall and Sketch Engine to analyze the corpus and puts forward political strategies of international news transediting according to skopos theory.The results show that:(1)The transedited international news is influenced by the text source and topic.The international status of the country and its development affect its news dissemination.There are many sources of international news reports,but the mainstream media has more voice.The topics of transedited international news are rich and diverse,but there are fewer military topics related to China,which shows China’s peaceful international military environment.(2)The language of transedited international news is simpler in sentence structure and more complicated in lexical level than original news.The language of transedited international news is more condensed and concise.The political strategies of international news transediting affect the formation of the politics,ideology and people’s values of the target country,and then national security.(3)The political strategies of international news transediting under the influence of skopos theory include: the construction of transeditor’s accumulation of political strategy,the selection of transedited text and content reconstruction,the selection of transediting strategy under the political strategy of news transediting,and the adaptation of language form and policy.The purpose of this study is to improve the acceptance to foreign media and news appreciation,resisting cultural hegemony by constructing political strategies for news transediting and adopting appropriate transediting strategies.
