With the development of globalization,international communication in all fields has been more and more frequent.In recent years academic exchanges between universities home and abroad have been more and more popular.Under such circumstances,the need for academic lecture interpretation has been on the rise for the students have the desire to better understand the lecture and communicate with the avant-garde in their academic fields.This report is based on an academic lecture held by Central China Normal University.The lecture with the topic of educational technology mainly introduced the new findings in the field,gave suggestions on how the society can support teacher?s teaching and how educational technology can help students.This report is made up of four parts.In the first part,the author introduced the background and features of the task.In the second part,the author gave detailed elaboration on the process of interpretation including the pre-interpretation preparation,on-site interpretation and post-interpretation quality control.In the third part,the author analyzed Newmark?s text typology theory and concluded that academic lecture belongs to the type of informative lecture,and the main function of the interpretation is to convey the information to the target audience,so the interpretation should be much applied to the language habits of the targeted audience and the words should be plain and fluent.The author met various difficulties such as technical terms,English idioms,citations and long sentences.With different interpretation methods and strategies the author tackled these obstacles.In the fourth part,the author summarized the interpretation practice and gave his own suggestions on how to do academic lecture interpretation.
