The "The Belt And One Road" initiative emphasizes that people’s communication is the foundation of national relations,while common values are the foundation of people’s communication.And Cultural communication still is the most effective and popular bridge to achieve common values.Recently,Shared Values,which is the basic project of public opinion in "The Belt And Road",is getting more and more attention.which leads to "The Belt And Road" documentaries。These documentaries aim to be the narrator of "silk road story",the disseminator of "silk road culture" and the promoter of "silk road spirit".But their effects will ultimately depend on the transmission of this kind of documentaries.The paper selects the important intercultural groups--Foreign students in China as the research object,to discuss the effect of "The Belt And Road" documentary in cross-cultural communication.Through the questionnaire survey,first of all,foreign students in China have low recognition and viewing rate of "The Belt And Road" documentaries,and the overall communication effect is not good;Secondly,they have obviously "instrumental motivation" and "cultivation motivation" in watching "The Belt And Road" documentaries,and the interpersonal communication channel plays an important role.They prefer local media on watching this kind of documentary;Finally,the China’s image portrayed in "The Belt And Road" documentaries has a low recognition and full of suspicion.In the in-depth interview,it can be seen that there are four factors influencing the communication effect of "The Belt And Road" documentaries:Firstly,the communication content is low to the demand of foreign students in China;Secondly,the communication channels and the media use habits of the foreign students in China are not fit to these documentaries;Thirdly,the cultural difference of the communication subject weakens the acceptability of the foreign students.Finally,the communication environment takes bad influences in the cognition of Chinese image.In view of the problems found in the research,the author proposes the following countermeasures.Firstly,based on the regional cultural differences of the foreign students in China,the author needs to implement the precise audience positioning strategy;Secondly,considering the different characteristics of the foreign student groups,we should develop diversified,multiple forms of communication channels,and give full play to the interpersonal communication,organizational communication,and the advantage of mass communication in intercultural communication;Thirdly,given priority to Content and insist on documentary brand building strategies;Finally,carry out the strategy of building China’s national image under the background of cultural diplomacy.
