A Study On The Character Of Yao

The character of Yao are unique,which preserved in the documents of Yao nationality.In this paper,we will use the literature that collected from investigation and research as our corpus.The characters are arranged into table,and the structure,method of making character,the type of fonts,the cause and the characteristic are analyzed and studied.Five parts are involved in this paper to carry out a study of the characters from two levels'--the internal and external characteristics by detailed analysis.In the first chapter,we will introduce the research achievements of Yao nationality's writing at home and abroad.Then briefly describe the value and method of the research of Yao's character.And the corpus' collection site and the interview object will be also illustrated.In the second chapter,first of all,we compare and analyze the structural units of Yao's character--the strokes and components with Chinese character.Secondly,the mixed using of the components will also explain.Finally,we summarize the structural characteristics of Yao's character,that is,the combination of components.In the third chapter,because of the Yao's character is basically transformed from Chinese character,the main methods of transformation of Chinese character are divided into three types: transforming structure,adding or subtracting strokes or components and changing strokes and structure.In order to illustrate,examples are given one by one.In the fourth chapter,according to the pattern of character,we will classify the types of character in the literature of Yao nationality into borrowed character and self-made character from the perspective of glyph.Borrowing characters are divided into four parts: Quanjie character,Yindu character,Xudu character and Marked character from the specific borrowing situation of font type,sound and meaning.Self-made character can be divided into single-type character and combined character from the perspective of font structure.According to the structure-function analysis method,the function of the components in characters will be selective analyzed.Then the combined character includes seven types: the meaning combined character,the sound and meaning combined character,the marking and sound combined character,the marking and meaning combined character,the marking and soud and meaning combined character,the symbol combined character and expression meaning combined character.In the fifth chapter,through the concrete analysis to the cause and the character font of Yao's character,we can also analysis its external characteristic as a whole then explain its regional,arbitrariness and consistency.Generally speaking,this paper has done a lot of work in the early preparation stage to collect the Yao's literature,so we have sorted out the more comprehensive font of Yao's character.Then,the scientifically analysis of the font's main features and the reasonable analysis and classification can carry out.At the same time,the external characteristics of the Yao's character can objectively summarize.This paper will provide materials for the further study of Yao's character.
