A Report On The Translation Practice Of The Excerpts Of Henan Wolong Volume Of The Collected Chinese Folk Stories

In recent years,with the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous advancement of globalization,many foreigners have become increasingly interested in Chinese culture and have begun to focus on Chinese culture.As a result,many Chinese classics have been translated into English.Meanwhile,with its long history and rich cultural connotations,Chinese culture is also attracting more and more foreigners.In this context,Chinese culture “going out” project came into being.In the process of the development of Chinese culture going abroad,the influence of Chinese culture has been expanding year by year.Compared with many translation materials about traditional Chinese classics,there are not many English translations of the Chinese folk culture.Therefore,the study of Chinese folk culture is necessary,and the translation of Chinese folk stories should also be given enough attention.In the translation report,the author takes the cross-cultural communication as the theoretical framework,applies the translation of Chinese folk stories as the example to discuss the preparation,translation process,and post-translation works and discusses the application of cross-cultural communication as well as translation skills in the practice.In the first chapter,the author introduces the background of the translation,the origin of the translation task and the significance of the practice.In the second chapter the author presents the translation process and reviewing work of the post-translation.In the third chapter the author starts from the theory of cross-cultural communication,and combines the characteristics of Chinese folk stories to explore the relationship between cross-cultural communication and the translation of Chinese folk stories.In the fourth chapter the author lists the problems in the translation as well as combines the theory of cross-cultural communication,to introduce the corresponding translation techniques used in the translation.In the fifth chapter the author mainly discusses the enlightenments and deficiencies in the translation.In the chapter six,the author reviews the overall translation practice and draws the conclusion.In a word,the theory as well as the flexible translation techniques should be considered in the process of translation practice.The author hopes that the translation practice report can provide a certain reference for translation of Chinese folk stories.
