The shuncheng conjunction plays a role in the narrative discourse both before and after coherence.On the basis of the existing research and the actual situation of the foreign students,this article selects representative follow-up conjunctions “ranhou”,“yushi” and “jiezhe” as the research objects,and examines how foreign students use them to express time in the narrative text.Or sequence of actions.The research corpus comes from the corpora of several universities and the essays we have collected from foreign students.The linguistic materials total about 590,000 words.The paper adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods,and arranges corpus according to the steps.It first compares the correct use of “ranhou”,“yushi”,and“jiezhe” by the students at intermediate level,intermediate level,and advanced level,and then summarizes them.Mistypes,analysis of the causes of errors,and then put forward targeted teaching suggestions.Through statistics and analysis,we found that: In the three conjunctions,there are very few use cases of “yushi”,and the frequency of use is also lowest in the three levels.With the gradual improvement of the Chinese level of foreign students,the use of three words appears.The single choice-the frequency of use of the three words is quite different,most of the use cases are concentrated on the word “ranhou”,the use frequency of “yushi” and “jiezhe” is relatively small;There is no consistency in the correctness of using conjunctions.We also found that the accuracy rate of “yushi” and “jiezhe” in the three stages of the level has first risen slightly and then decreased slightly,and the accuracy rate of the word “ranhou” has risen with the level.High and small decline.This shows that at a certain stage,the learner's Chinese proficiency is not necessarily positively correlated with the accuracy of the use of conjunctions in discourse.From the point of view of individual use or cooperation,“ranhou” and “jiezhe” are often used in tandem with “xian,shouxian” and “zai”,“jiezhe” are used together with “jiu,you” and “yushi”is used alone.In terms of bias,this article divides the errors of the three conjunctions into three categories: mis-substitution,redundancy,and omission.The highest percentage of errors is mis-generation,as high as 62%;the type of prominent bias of and “ranhou” is mis-generation and redundancy;“yushi”,“jiezhe” biased less than a few examples.The possible causes of bias include: the complexity of adhering to the conjunctions,the influence of the students' use of English high frequency words “then”,and the lack of teaching and teaching materials.Combined with the research,this article finally put forward our reference opinions for the teaching of Shun Conjunction.
