With the growth of Chinese economy,more and more foreigners want to learn about China and Chinese,which increases transnational exchanges between universities.Prince of Songkla University,located in the south of Thailand,has sent several exchange students to mainland Chinese universities since last century.The credit exchange system,implemented by the university,made the cooperation between transnational universities accessible.This project is not only beneficial to Chinese and Chinese culture learning among university students in the target language environment,but also to broaden students’ horizon and promote their all-round development.This article,with preliminary investigation,made a general teaching design for a credit exchange course entitled Chinese culture in Prince of Songkla University after taking consideration of various factors,in the hope that it will provide references for teaching in future.The thesis firstly shows the meaning of this project.And it briefly introduces the status quo of the credit exchange system,teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and teaching design for Chinese culture,and explains the research methods of this thesis.Then it is the preliminary investigation of the credit exchange classes of Chinese culture in Prince of Songkla University.Through a questionnaire survey of all sophomore,majoring in international trade(Chinese orientation)in Prince of Songkhla University,this article draws a preliminary conclusion,based on the information and analysis of the basic characteristics of teaching subjects,the recognition and evaluation of Chinese culture,and analysis on the characteristics of the exchange credit course Chinese Culture.The third chapter is the overall instructional design for the exchange credit courses of Chinese culture under the guidance of teaching design theory.The teaching design specifically narrates in five aspects,including the orientation and objectives of the curriculum,teaching principles,teaching contents,teaching methods and teaching evaluation.In the fourth chapter,a teaching case was designed specially based on the “Chinese Surname Culture”.Under the preliminary investigation and related theory,this thesis takes a cultural topic in teaching as a case study,which undertakes teaching design of Chinese surnames culture from eight aspects,such as teaching goals,teaching objects,teaching difficulties,class schedules,teaching method,etc.Chapter 5,based on teaching practice,elaborates on the teaching design of the credit exchange course,Chinese culture,from the Prince of Songkla University in Thailand and puts forward sound suggestions.Finally,it is a summary,which points out the significance of the project and its future outlook.
