Theory of credit is both an innovative science and an applicative research in urgent need at present.Introduction----Summary On Credit The Introduction summarily argues that credit is the base and lifeline of the market economy, points out that as our country is at the transferring stage, phenomenon of credit anomie is protruding and study on credit should be given great importance. So the stress of this dissertation is to analyze credit morals and credit economic significance from historic and realistic perspective. The Introduction explains the meanings of credit from four angles respectively and discloses its essential characteristics: One chooses credit deeds in order to realize his interest. The Introduction also shows the basic factors, forms and types of credit and accounts for the relationship between credit and monetary. What's more, the Introduction analyzes social credit mechanism which consists of credit relationship, credit deeds and credit principles (and the factors interact for one another). Credit mechanism can assure and restrict credit activities. Chapter One On the Development Process of Credit----Analysis of Credit Origin and Development Credit has its different forms at different historic stages. With the development of commodity's yield and exchange, the connotation of credit has been enlarged and endowed with more and more economic and moral meaning, credit becomes the basic criterion and request of social and economic deeds. This chapter deals with the economic, ethic and principle bases of credit origin, shows the social and historic conditions of credit origin and development: division of the work and cooperation among people. It also generalizes the basic conformations of credit: conformation existing in barbarism society which bases on honest work, conformation existing in mediaeval times which is symbolized with social identity, conformation existing in market economy society which makes fulfilling bonds as its core content. Chapter Two On Notion of Credit----Analysis of Credit Concepts in China and Foreign Countries and Their Functions Great importance has been attached to the concept of credit in China and foreign countries, people at large regard abiding by credit, treating others honestly and fulfilling bonds as guidelines of their actions. The front part of this chapter discusses the traditional notion of credit in China which was listed in Chinese traditional morals. In Chinese traditions, credit was looked on as basic rules for standing and walking, self-culture and social interaction, abiding by credit is the criterion for exchange of commodities, namely, notion of credit reflected the lofty ambit of commercial morals. In the later part, this chapter discusses the ideology base of western notion of credit, lays stresses on thoughts of Aristotle, Thomas and Adam Smith and then analyzes the impact from Protestant ethic upon notion of credit and constraints of law for credit activities in details. Chapter Three On Credit Interest----Analysis of Relationship Between Credit and Interest In market-economy society, pursing individual interest is common, people adopt measures such as exchanging commodities, signing contracts to satisfy the most part of their interest, but the base for achieving their goals is abiding by credit. This chapter makes a compare between individualism and altruism viewpoint during the proceeding of market economy and makes a conclusion that abiding by credit and satisfying private interest is harmonious. Besides the above-mentioned, this chapter expounds the economic value of credit, explains the constraint and safeguarding functions of bonds for credit activities and points out that abiding by credit is helpful for shaking off the side effect.
