Discussion On The Compilation Of The Chinese General History Written By Zhangqin

Zhangqin(1880-1931),courtesy name Juesheng,literary name Kefang,was called Zhang Jushen,was borned in Hangxian of Zhejiang,was the descendant of Zhang Xuecheng,was a bibliophile and historian in modern times and made important contributions in the field of the compilation of the Chinese general history.Zhang lived the age of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.This is a special period from traditional historiography to new historiography.At this moment the compilation upsurge of history textbook and Chinese general history rose.At that time a lot of scholar began to explore new compilation method of Chinese general history,tried to use new method and inject new idea.Zhang also was no exception.He participated in compiling several history textbook.Chinese general history intensively embodied his historiography thought.In the special period that had the shock between new historiography and old historiography,Zhangqin’s thought also embodied the characteristics that the new and the old both coexisted based on the influence.In this paper,based on Chinese general history and other work by Zhangqin,combining with special time background at that time,studied his main historiography thought and characteristics,observed the development process and characteristics of the transition from the old to the new of chinese historiography during the period of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,replenished the current research on chinese historiography of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.This paper is divided into the following parts: In introduction mainly narrated the reason for choosing topic,explained why choose Zhangqin as research object and the research status of Zhangqin academia at present.In the first chapter,briefly introduced the lifetime of Zhangqin,time background and the compilation of history textbook.In the second chapter,centered on the Chinese general history and analysized the compilation characteristics detailedly.In the third chapter,analysed the characteristics of the times embodied by Chinese general history,explored the transformation characteristics and influence of historiography of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.Finally,summarized and appraised the historiography research on Zhangqin.
