Fan Shoukang "of Chinese Philosophy History Of The General Theory" And Its Historical Status

The author of"A General Discourse on Chinese Philosophical History"Fan Shoukang (1896—1983)is a well-known scholar, educationalist, social activist and patriot of our country. There are lots of his publications, including more than 30monographs, 200-300 papers. He taught at several universities in our country, such as Wuhan University, Anhui University and Taiwan University for several 40-50years. He is one of the creators of Taiwan Normal University. During 5.4 period he took the lead of introducing Marxist historical materialism to the readers of our country. His monograph"A General Discourse on Chinese Philosophical History"is a masterpiece of his own. In that monograph he uses Marxist viewpoint and method. It is a pioneering monograph. Its merits can not be neglected. The present thesis of master's degree emphases the method of the philosophical history, Confucian viewpoint, Daoist and Buddhist viewpoint of Fan's monograph"A General Discourse on Chinese Philosophical History"an,besides briefly introducing Fan's life and his publications. And the thesis tries to assert the rational historical and valuable position of the monograph, it points out"A General Discourse on Chinese Philosophical History"is the first monograph systematically researching Chinese philosophical history using Marxist basic viewpoint. The present thesis analyses some historical localizations and theoretical defects as well.
