A Comparative Study On The Discourse Perspective Markers Of "Wo Renwei(我认为)" And "Wo Juede(我觉得)"

Under the instruction of the theories of textual linguistics and semantic grammar,this paper compares the common discourse perspective markers of“Wo Renwei(我认为)”and“Wo Juede(我觉得)”on their utterance choice,pragmatic functions,semantic feature and pragmatic connotation.For these two discourse perspective markers,they have many common intersections in utterance choice and pragmatic function.From the utterance choice,they tend to choose four kinds of words types,namely assertive sentence,evaluative sentence,speculative sentence,suggestive sentence.From the pragmatics,they are mainly used to highlight subjectivity and perspective of speakers.There are both commonality and difference.They vary greatly in semantic feature and pragmatic connotation.From semantic perspective,the discourse perspective marker of“Wo Renwei(我认为)”is mostly rational,persistent and more sure.While“Wo Juede(我觉得)”has more sensibility,variability and uncertainty.From the pragmatic connotation,“Wo Renwei(我认为)”has affirmative tendency and more literal,while“Wo Juede(我觉得)”tends to hesitate and less literal.
