With the implementation of the new curriculum reform,a new teaching model comes into being.Among them,the learning guide is favored by primary and secondary schools.It mainly adopts the teaching ideology of “taking students as the learning body and teachers as the leading body”.For this,scholars in education also advocates to implement new types English assignments to adapt the teaching model of learning guide,to improve teaching effects,and reduce students' burden in learning.Work sheet of English learning guide is an important part of teaching activities in classroom,learning contents and learning tasks;it plays a key function in the effects of learning in classroom,the expansion of existing knowledge,the development of the ability of applying knowledge,and the improvement of teaching programs.Based on the above understanding and the implementation of this teaching model in Yanan,Shaanxi Province in recent years,this paper focuses on the following questions to investigate: How effective is the application of work sheet of learning guide of Sophomore English? What advantages and disadvantages do they have?There are 110 students and 6 teachers participating in this survey in a secondary school in Yanan as the research subjects.Students' questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students are used as research tools.The results show that effects are better in applying on work sheet of English learning guide.And there are 89.1% of the students have good learning attitudes and learning motivations.In this study,71.29% of the students think that work sheet of learning guide can develop their English learning habits and to think independently.There are 61.38% of the students thinking work sheet of learning guide is various and has a strong sense of hierarchy,which can help them expand the scope of learning English.In this survey,73.3% of the students believe thatwork sheet can improve their abilities of applying English.They have strong language skills,especially in writing,reading,and translation and they apply different ways in writing and serious way of thinking.There are 76.2% of students knowing more about their own learning situation and 68.3% of students can consciously reflect on their own learning ways and methods,review and sort out what they have learned in class.In the study,55.44% of students think that work sheet is diversified and they can participate in it;teachers can seriously revise and analyze the mistakes in work sheet of learning guide.However,there are several shortcomings about work sheet: there are 54.45% of students have not more interests in learning English,and they have poor communication skills.In the study,64.4% of students think that the volume of work sheet is much to finish;there are 82.2% of students considering the design of listening and speaking lack,and most of the listening exercises are multiple-choice questions.Even though the teachers have revised their work sheet,the depth of their correction is not enough.Subsequently,some appropriate teaching suggestions are put forward on the existing problems in the future,which hopes have a help for the improvement of work sheet of English learning guide in high school.
