Reading is one of the important skills in language learning.Reading comprehension plays an important role in high school English teaching.However,the study found that English reading teaching of the current high school still has problems such as teacher explanation,student learning is not active,and self-learning enthusiasm is low.In this study,the author tries to change the teaching mode based on teacher's explanation in the past,paying full attention to the role of students' main body in teaching,improving students' interest in learning English,and gradually cultivating students' habit of learning English,thus improving students' reading level.First learning to guide the problem evaluation model(????-????)takes problem learning as the main line,evaluation learning as the means,team learning as the platform,task-driven approach,and thinking learning as the goal,it is a comprehensive teaching mode that runs through the teaching process.First learning to guide the problem evaluation model is based on Cooperative Learning Theory and Krashen's Input Theory.The author conducted the practice of the First learning to guide the problem evaluation model teaching mode in the rural middle school.After investigation,it was found that students in this school generally had problems such as low reading input and poor self-learning ability in the English reading class.Therefore,the author tries to apply the First learning to guide the problem evaluation model teaching mode to high school English reading teaching.Through experiment,pre-tests,questionnaires and interviews,combined with SPSS22.0 and EXCEL statistical tools to collect and analyze the data,there are two hypotheses: Can First learning to guide the problem evaluation modelimprove students' reading performance? Can First learning to guide the problem evaluation model improve interest in English reading? This experiment continues one semester,for a total of 17 weeks.During the experiment,the experimental group used the First learning to guide the problem evaluation model teaching mode to teach,while the control group used the traditional teaching mode.The author is the English substitute teacher of these two classes,and the mandatory version of the high school English compulsory one and the compulsory two are used in teaching.Finally,the result shows that:1.First learning to guide the problem evaluation model can effectively improve the students' reading scores.According to statistics,the students of two classes were quite equal in the level of English reading.However,after the 16-week experiment,all the students were asked to complete the post-experimental test.It was found that the results of the experimental class changed significantly compared with the control class(P=0.002),the reading scores of the experimental class was significantly higher(M=27.65)than before(M=19.94),especially in terms of detailed understanding,logical reasoning and subject matter,and far exceeded the results of the control class(M=20.71).However,the control class did not change significantly before and after the experiment.2.Students approved first learning to guide the problem evaluation model teaching mode.Based on Chiu-Wen Huang's research on attitude,the author analyzed attitude from aspect of cognitive dimension,emotional dimension and behavioral orientation dimension.The survey results show that acceptance of the experimental group students are generally on the rise.In the emotional dimension(P=0.000)and behavioral tendency dimension(P=0.001),the students' interests have a significant trend toward the positive direction.However,attitude of the control group did not change significantly(P=0.555)before and after the experiment.Therefore,this paper confirms that first learning to guide the problem evaluation model is an effective teaching mode,which can help studentsimprove their reading performance and students approve this teaching mode,and has important reference value for the current English teaching reform.
