Higher vocational education is an important part of higher education in China,playing an important role in cultivating talents with a compound of modern skills.Studying and applying EOP is one of the important symbols in cultivating talents with a compound of modern skills to higher vocational education.So is the improvement of the comprehensive quality education,which scholars are increasingly concerned about this area.Based on data access and collection,it is found that a number of vocational colleges in China have developed prominently in vocational English teaching in recent years,and students’ EOP level has been improved a lot.But it is stilling hard to avoid some problem affecting the quality of EOP teaching and cultivating technical talents in the huge system of higher vocational education in our country.To a certain extent,the development of education has been influenced and restricted.Taking three higher vocational colleges in Jiujiang as examples,this paper carried on the analysis research,found and analyzed the problems existing in EOP teaching process,and put forward effective countermeasures for the further improvement on the quality of EOP teaching in higher vocational colleges and the development needs of vocational English teaching in China.This paper conducted a study on the process of collecting the data,understanding the present situation,finding and analyzing the problem,and putting forward effective countermeasures EOP teaching the thought by different methods like the questionnaire survey method,the interview method,the classroom observation method etc.The body of paper consists of five parts.The first part made a summary of the domestic and foreign research literature,and introduced the research status in this field.The second part made a survey on students and teachers of vocational colleges in Jiujiang and the firms where students practiced by the questionnaires,and get the current situation of EOP teaching by analyzing the collection of data based on the questionnaires.The third part is to find the causes of the main problems in EOP teaching,such as the reasons of students’ low level and poor expression,the reason of a gap between EOP ability of students and the requirements of the post,and the reasonof lacking EOP teaching characteristics and the reason why teaching effect is not obvious.The fourth part puts forward effective countermeasures to improve the quality of EOP teaching in higher vocational colleges in China based on the current EOP teaching situation.The fifth part summarizes the productions of this research,views the application prospects of the productions and primitively thinks of the following research directions and challenges.This paper puts forward effective countermeasures on quality improvement of EOP teaching through the analysis of the case,which enriched on EOP teaching research theory of higher vocational education in our country.Meanwhile,it is hoped that this paper could take referential and promoting effect on the development of EOP teaching in other vocational colleges in China. |
