Based on the relevant domestic and overseas research results and the author's own practice of teaching Chinese in New Zealand,this thesis analyzes the way and the advantages of applying online teaching tools in Chinese teaching and discuss the imperfection of online teaching tools in the aspect of design and applying.And this thesis will gives some suggestions in terms of design and applying.On object of the study,this thesis analyzes six online tools which is commonly used at Christchurch Boy's High School in New Zealand from the aspect of function,characteristic and operation steps.On research methods,this thesis analyzes the current situation,advantages and disadvantages of applying online Chinese teaching tools in teaching Chinese as a foreign language by using the methods of descriptive analysis,individual interview,classroom observation,combination of analysis and synthesis,and gives some suggestions according to the disadvantages.The study found that the online Chinese teaching tools have three imperfections in design aspect:lack of live interaction,being lack of real-time guidance from the teachers;lack of cultural background.In terms of applying,those tools have three advantages:sharing resources conveniently and saving teaching time;solving teaching problems and improving teaching efficiency;enriching the way of teaching and improving the students' interest of learning.However,there are also three disadvantages in applying aspect:lack of pertinence,improper utilization of online Chinese teaching tools by teachers;easy to distract the students' attention.Therefore,this thesis puts forward three suggestions in design aspect: setting up live interaction link;attaching more importance to teachers' real-time guidance;reinforcing proposals for cultural background construction.This thesis also puts forward four suggestions in applying aspect:managing the relationships between traditional way of teaching and online tool teaching;strengthening the pertinence of online Chinese teaching tools;strengthening the cultivation of teachers;strengthening the two-way interaction between teachers and students.
