With the Mongolian conquest of the west and the setting of the western khanate in the beginning of the 13 th century,a large number of western people went along with the army to the east.Whether willing or forced, these western people ultimately served as soldiers in various battlefields of Mongolia.Due to the earlier arrival of the east, these western sergeants were almost involved in all the Mongol wars against Jin,Xia and Song, which could be said that they made a great contribution to the establishment of the Yuan dynasty. After the founding of the Yuan dynasty, these western soldiers were divided into armies by clan, some of which monitored the border as the town’s army, and the other defended the capital as the standby guard army. They had been an important part of the Mongol-Yuan military system.During the course of Mongol conquests, many western sergeants with courage and sagacity not only had the illustrious military exploits but were loyal to Mongol emperor. Therefore, they were deeply trusted by the Mongolian rulers. After the war, these western soldiers had become the right-hand men in the government of the Yuan dynasty. As a result, they also played an important role in the political activities of the Yuan dynasty.
