At the end of the Second World War,Germany's European vassal has surrendered and signed a cease-fire agreement with the Allies. After the end of the war in Europe, the heads of the United States,Britain and the Soviet Union held the last session of the war in Potsdam, near Berlin in July 17,1945.At the meeting, the three major powers decided to set up a foreign ministers' meeting consisting of the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union,China and France, and prepared to sign a peace treaty with the five defeated countries, namely Italy,Romania,Bulgaria,Hungary and Finland. After a heated discussion among the major powers, the meeting agreed to invite China to participate in the foreign ministers' meeting of the fascist Japan. But under the influence of various factors,China only attended the first foreign ministers' meeting in London. From the perspective of China, this paper will study China's preparation and participation in the foreign ministers' meeting of the five countries to explore the gain and loss of China's foreign ministers' meeting in the five countries. This paper is composed of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The situation of "China and the Five Foreign Ministers' Meeting" is briefly summarized as follows:The first chapter introduces the invitation of the national government to participate the Five Foreign Ministers' Meeting.First of all,at the Potsdam conference, the leaders of the United States, the United States and Britain decided to set up a foreign ministers' meeting in order to conclude the peace treaty with the other fascist defeated countries in Europe other than Germany as soon as possible.Second, the proposal by President Truman to "make China one of the top five" was questioned by British and Soviet leaders. But in the end, with the mediation of President Truman,Britain and the Soviet Union agreed to China's participation in the foreign ministers' meeting for their respective interests. The second chapter mainly discusses China's preparations for the Five Foreign Ministers' Meeting. At the time of the national government is very cherish the chance to attend the foreign ministers' meeting, the main members of the Ministry of foreign affairs,Shih-Chieh Wang,Tse-ven Soong and Wellington koo before the developed multiple bill about China's immediate interests, would like to present these issues at the meeting.President Chiang kai-shek had high hopes for his delegation before it set out.The third chapter focuses on China's participation in the first five foreign ministers' meetings and gains and losses in the foreign ministers' meeting. The concerns of the delegation of the national government failed to win the support of the great powers at the London foreign ministers' meeting.Subsequently, because of the opposition of Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov,China directly lost the qualification of the next several discussions on the conclusion of the peace treaty to the defeated country.China's participation in the foreign ministers' meeting has cancelled the privileges of Italy in China and has promoted the international status to a certain extent. But its status as a "seemingly big country" has always restricted the members of the delegation. The conclusion concluded that the main reason for the loss of the delegation's participation in the foreign ministers' meeting is the status of China's non substantive power, and the power of the United States,Britain and the Soviet Union also restricts China's diplomatic appeal.
