A good beginning is the key to success.The lead-in part,which is known as"warming up",draw more and more attention from the English teachers because it can help students to learn.Although it only occupies several minutes,it has significant effect on interactions between teacher and students.To improve lead-in part and make full use of lead-in part is a great project in English teaching in senior high school.With the development of society,students have higher expectations for English learning in classroom.How to make the best of lead-in part?How to make students more active in classroom?How to arouse students’ curiosity about English learning?It is very important and worth studying.Since lead-in part is so important in improving learning and teaching,the author made a research on lead-in part in Changyang NO.1 senior high school.The author focusses on the three questions.First,what are the frequent methods used in the classroom?Second,what are the problems existing in the lead-in part?Third,how to improve the effects of lead-in part in English teaching?Based on the research in Changyang No.1 senior high school,the author analyzes the methods frequently used in English teaching and their effects.Then,the author finds out some problems existing in the lead-in part.First,only three or four methods are used by teachers when they design the lead-in part.Second,teachers spend little time on lead-in part so that the effect is not good.Third,when designing the lead-in part,teachers only care some factors and ignore the students’ needs and interest.In the last chapter,the author puts forward some suggestions.By analyzing the reasons,the author provides some suggestions.First,the teachers should try diverse ways to design lead-in part.They can make full use of the media and textbooks to design the activities so that they can satisfy the psychological needs of students and help students to learn.Second,teachers should read more articles on lead-in part in English teaching.In this case,they can have a comprehensive understanding of lead-in part.If they have a good command of the lead-in part,they will wisely control the time and make lead-in part more effective.Finally,teachers should keep it in mind that students should participate and speak more.Combine the learning and interest together and make students more active.
