The source text of this translation report is drawn from Chapter 4 and 5 of“The Little Black Book of Decision Making: Making Complex Decisions with Confidence in a Fast-Moving World” authored by Michael Nicholas,a Britain specialist in management.Based on the psychological views, this book elaborates on how our ways of thinking stop us making accurate decisions and puts forward suggestions to handle this problem in today's fast-moving world. The selected chapters describe our ways of thinking, and combined with related cases, the influence on our decisions is also introduced. This report consists of four parts, that is,the introduction of the report, the introduction of the source text, the guiding theories and the difficulties encountered, and the conclusion, with the third part as its core.According to Newmark's text typology, the source text is categorized into informative texts. Therefore, the translation adopts Nord's function plus loyalty and Hans J.Vermeer's skopos as guidance to convey the critical information to the audience clearly in the translation practice.Owing to the linguistic difference between English and Chinese, some abstract words and sentences need to be translated,so the methods of conversion and restructuring are adopted and analyzed in this paper.
