A Report On C-E Translation Of 03 Contract Section Of The Rail Transit Fangshan Line North Extension Project Civil Construction

With the continuous acceleration of the globalization process,more and more Chinese engineering enterprises go abroad to participate in international competition.Therefore,the demand for translation of engineering text has been increasing year by year,however it provides the translator with great opportunities and exercise,puts forward higher requirements.The engineering text has very important guiding significance in the construction period,because of its particularity and importance,the understanding and translation of the text must be very accurate,so we should pay high attention to it..In this translation practice,the author mainly used Nida's "functional equivalence" theory as a guide,and started from the difficulties in the process of Chinese translation,such as:civil engineering vocabulary,the original non-subject sentences and the long difficult sentence of the original text.And according to the author' experience in the translation of similar texts,the author can use the appropriate translation methods and techniques,such as literal translation,free translation and structural adjustment to solve the difficulties one by one.This report is a translation from Chinese to English,and the text is from the "03 Contract Section of the Rail Transit Fangshan Line North Extension Project Civil Construction" With functional equivalence theory as the theoretical guidance for the translation work,it highlights the practicality of the theory in the translation,and briefly describes the importance of engineering text as a translation materials.The main body of the translation report first describes the reasons for the selection of the translated materials,the background of the translation tasks,and the analysis of the contents of the translated materials,summarizing its characteristics.In the main part of the report,the author combines the Nida's functional equivalence theory,and analyzes the translation of the text about the vocabulary,sentence,the text,language style and translation process under the guidance of the theory,including the choice of words,the handling of sentences,and the logical thinking of translation,and then summarizes the translation principles,translation techniques and methods of such texts.Finally,the translator summarizes the difficulties and enlightenment of the translation text under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,and points out the shortcomings of this report and the direction of the future efforts.Through this practice of translating,the author has deepened the comprehension of this kind of texts and correspondingly improved the translation level.The author hope that the relevant translation experience can provide references for the translation of similar texts.
