The Interactive Reference And Development Of Chinese And Foreign Dulcimer

Dulcimer is a world stringed musical instrument with a long history and wide distribution,which has heterogeneous shapes,acting skills and musical styles in different countries,as well as has distinctive national and regional characteristics.In1987,at a traditional music seminar in the Asia-Pacific region,a large body of foreign music scholars pointed out that “China is at the forefront of the world,especially in the field of developing and using traditional ethnic music”.With China's reform and openness in-depth,the international influence of China has been further expanded.The music culture and art communication between China and foreign countries have gradually become more and more extensive.For example,Chinese dulcimer musicians frequently go abroad for performances,and foreign dulcimer expertise and scholars also continually visit China for presentations.All these interactions are slowly infiltrating and affecting each other.Therefore,this study will employ more systematic and comprehensive exploration research method,to explore the mutual impact and learning between Chinese and foreign dulcimer in the area of art forms,acting skills and musical styles during the process of formation and development of three major dulcimer systems.On the other hand,this study will analyze the novel opportunities and challenges for the development of Chinese dulcimer art in the context of globalization.Furthermore,through comparative analysis,this study will seek the valuable experiences that are always embedded in the development process of dulcimer for both China and foreign countries.By acquiring and utilizing the experience knowledge that we have found in this study,not only can help us rationally recognize and adjust ourselves,but also can further improve the development of Chinese dulcimer,becoming more popular with Chinese and foreign artists.
