This reflective report is based on the simultaneous interpreting practice for a speech entitled“The Attitude and Ways for Japanese Culture Study”,delivered by Professor Sujiugao,during the Annual Conference of the Northeast Asia International Language and Culture Research Base on September 9th,2017.The conference was held at the College of Foreign Languages of Jilin University,and the author was honored to do the Chinese to English simultaneous interpreting for Prof.Su.The aim of this report is to improve the interpreting ability by analyzing examples of representative problems and finding out coping solutions.This reflective report briefly introduces the background of the task and describes the interpreting process,including a source text analysis from three aspects:the stylistic features,syntactic features and lexical features.It focuses on summarizing the major problems with typical examples and detailed analysis,then puts forward coping solutions to further improve the interpreting quality.It is hopeful that the problems and coping strategies discussed in this report could provide some valuable references for other interpreters. |
