Based on the Construction Theory,this study gathers and analyzes six types of constructions in the typical comprehensive textbooks of teaching Chinese as a second language since 1950s.By investigating the distribution and characteristics of different types of constructions in textbooks from different periods,that is,idiomatic constructions,separable constructions,collocation constructions,framework constructions,syntactic constructions and connection constructions,this study illustrates the way of presentation,teaching arrangements and teaching methods of constructions,which paves the way to explore the development and changes of teaching ideas of constructions ever since 1950s.
