The Effect Of Suzhou Pingtan On The Mental Health Of The Elderly

Suzhou Pingtan,a form of Southern folk art adopting the Suzhou dialect,embraces a long history.It combines two genres,"Pinghua" and "Tanci".Nowadays society has stepped into an aging society,the problem of aging population is increasingly apparent,what can we do to solve this problem is to improve the quality of life in old age,one of the elements of high level quality of life is the physical and mental health.If Suzhou Pingtan can improve the mental health of the elderly,this research will become a research of theoretical significance and reference value.Under the guidance of the related theories of Suzhou Pingtan and psychology,this paper explores the influence of Suzhou Pingtan on mental health of the elderly by using the method of psychology.Schwarzer's general self-efficacy scale(GSES)and the Chinese version of Pittsburgh sleep quality scale(PSQI)were used in study 1 to explore the differences of the two questionnaires between two types elderly people.Study 2 selected 22 old people from elderly homes into two groups,one group listen to "Pearl Tower" for 20 days,another group without any intervention during the 20 days.The purpose of the study 2 is to explore the effect in the quality of sleep under the action of Suzhou Pingtan.Based on the two studies,we will further explore What kind of emotion can cause by Suzhou Pingtan.The results are as follows:(1)the level of self-efficacy of the elderly people who listened to Suzhou Pingtan was higher than that of the elderly who did not listen to Suzhou Pingtan,but there was no significant difference between the two.(2)the score of the sleep quality of the elderly who listened to Suzhou pingtan were better than those who did not listen to Suzhou Pingtan,and there were significant differences between them.(3)Suzhou Pingtan can improve the sleep quality of the elderly.(4)Suzhou Pingtan can cause positive emotions.
