Left-behind children are a special group emerged in the process of China’s economic development. As a social focus, the positive factors existing in left-behind children are drawing more and more attention.Mental resilience is also known as psychological resilience. As one of the areas of positive psychological research,it refers to the characteristic or ability to acclimatize when facing great pressure and adversity, and maintain good mental and physical health.Living in the same environment of being left behind, different left-behind children presents rather different manifestations, which is closely related to their mental resilience.Through the discussion of mental resilience, stigma perception, and social adaption of left-behind children, this paper helps to further understand the problems existed in the development of left-behind children and provides new perspective and theoretical basis for the mental health education of left-behind children in Wuchuan Autonomous Country for Gelao and Miao Nationalities Guizhou Province. In this study, literature analysis and HKRA are adopted for the measurement of 865 cases of left-behind children,to discuss the status quo of the mental resilience of left-behind children and study the relationship among mental resilience, stigma perception, and social adaption of left-behind children.Music and painting therapy are also adopted to implement intervention to the mental resilience of left-behind children in Minority Areas. The conclusions are as follows:(1)The mental resilience, stigma perception, and social adaption of left-behind children are generally in the medium level. However, children whose mental resilience is lower than the medium level require close attention.(2)The mental resilience level of Left-behind children in non-boarding schools is higher than those in boarding schools.(3)The mental resilience level of middle school left-behind children is higher than those in primary school.(4)The higher the left-behind time, the lower the mental resilience level, and vice versa.(5)The more frequent left-behind children contact with their parents, the higher the mental resilience level, and vice versa.(6)Mental resilience, stigma perception, and social adaption are pair wisely correlated,i.e.mental resilience is positively related to social adaption, while negatively related to stigma perception;and stigma perception is passively related to social adaption.(7)Mental resilience plays a partial intermediary role between stigma perception and social adaption.(8)The effect of music and painting therapy on the mental resilience of left-behind children is significant.
