The Study On Wang Chuanhan's Research Of Zhuangzi

Wang Chuanshan is one of the greatest Confucians in the Dynasty alternation from Ming to Qing Dynasty.Because of the profound academic thoughts and noble character,Chuanshan is known as one of the most celebrated masters in the history of ancient Chinese philosophy.Simplistic beliefs about Zhuangzi and Interpretation to Zhuangzi two books are his study of Zhuangzi,which have detailed explanation,and there are also a lot of distinctive ideas scattered in his other works.The object of my study is Wang Chuanshan's research of Zhuangzi,combining with his life experience,adherent identity and Confucian standpoint,in order to bring Wang Chuanshan's interpretation features out.There are a preface and four chapters included in this study.The preface introduces the origin of selecting the topic,the academic history,present situation,research method,difficulties and innovations.The first chapter gives some ideas about Wang Chuanshan's life experience and his original thoughts of Zhuangzi.Firstly,describes Wang Chuanshan's important events in his lifetime and his woks simply.Besides,by analyzing the means of adherents and the pursuits of life value for Wang Chuanshan,we can reveal that the reason for his seclusion was his social responsibility as a Confucian and historical mission.Finally,by highlighting the historical position of Zhuangzi and analyzing something in common between Zhuangzi and Wang Chuanshan,we can find that'personal identity' and 'social environment' have forced internal and external causes to Wang's interpretation of Zhuangzi.The second chapter discusses Wang Chuanshan's judgement on Zhuangzi from the depth of thinking,the style of writing and the integrating degree with Inner Chapters,and also the reason why Wang Chuanshan could give the conclusions that the Inner Chapters were Zhuangzi's works,Outer Chapters and Miscellaneous Chapters were written by Zhuangzi's students.The third chapter focuses on the ideological features of Wang Chuanshan's research on Zhuangzi.Section 1 gives some viewpoints about the combination of Confucianism and Zhuang from Wang Chuanshan's 'Happy Excursion' explanation,for example,what is the key to make 'Xiaoyao' come true and how the 'Xiaoyao'guides real life and political life.Section 2 discusses Wang Chuanshan's understanding of Zhuangzi's ontology from the perspective of 'Tao','Nature' and the ontology.Section 3 highlights on the different evaluations between Laozi and Zhuangzi,specifically,Wang Chuanshan gives positive evaluations to Zhuangzi in Simplistic beliefs about Zhuangzi and Interpretation to Zhuangzi but gives negative evaluations in other works and the reasons of it deserves to be discussed.The last chapter concentrates on the explanation methods during Wang Chuanshan's explanation of Zhuangzi.This chapter contains three parts,they are the basis of Wang Chuanshan's research on Zhuangzi,the summary ideas of Wang Chuanshan in terms of Zhuangzi Inner Chapters and three specific explanation methods called main thought finding,self-explanation and Zhuangzi-style developing.In conclusion,this paper attempts to investigate the features of Wang Chuanshan's research of Zhuangzi from the standpoint of ideology and methodology.In the process of analysis,we are supposed to combine the historical background and Wang Chuansan's life experience,trying our best to understand his identity and psychology as an adherent of Ming Dynasty.Because it is not only easier for us to discover similar details from Zhuangzi and.Wang Chuanshan in terms of spirit but also a good wish to make contributions to the study on Wang Chuanshan's research of Zhuangzi.
