Su Ci's Inheritance In Literature Writings Of Zhuangzi

Zhuangzi is an important character of the ancient literature history of China, who has left significant influence on the literature productions after him. Sushi is one of those deeply influenced by him. This dissertation aims to make an overall analysis and introduction of how Su Ci inherits Zhuangzi in the way of literature writings, as well as to make some new explanations, from the respective of artistic conception, style, argument, rhetoric, reference, subject matter, and language.In the first part, The author illustrates how Zhuangzi has influenced the afterward literature productions to make the argument clearly that Suci is definitely influenced by Zhuangzi.In the second part, with a review of Sushi's unpeaceful life, the author begins to analyze how Sushi accepted Taoist's thoughts of Zhuangzi, and added it into his own literature productions.In the third part, with the demonstration that the influence on Suci by Zhuangzi does not only exist in the philosophy thoughts and writing ideas, but also in the writing methods, the author makes a concrete analysis of how Sushi inherited and developed Zhuangzi's writing methods with the respective of artistic conception, style, argument, rhetoric, reference, subject matter, and language. Taking the artistic conception for example, Suci is bold and unconstrained, as well as graceful and restrained, which are the features of Zhuangzi's writings. The author also discusses how Suci inherited and developed the subject matter choosing and free imagination in the aspect of style.The analysis of how Suci was influenced by Zhuangzi on the writing methods, is helpful for this research, then accordingly to make us deeply understand how Suci accepted and took use of the predecessors' literature experiences, and it is also helpful for us to widely understand the influence of Zhuangzi on the writings after Sushi, such as Xinqiji, Jiangkui and others.
