| This paper is a practical report of Chinese-English interpreting,which describes the author’s interpretation experience for foreign teachers in an internship unit in November 2017.The materials interpreted are the first episode Where Am I From and the second episode The First Four Surnames in The Hundreds Surnames series of an educational CCTV program--Lecture Forum.Based on the interpretive theory,the author makes a detailed analysis of the problems which occurred while interpreting the episodes and puts forward the corresponding interpretation strategies.This report consists of four parts.In the first part,the author mainly describes the translation task from four aspects,the source,the information,the meaning and the requirements of the task.The second part is about the entire process of translation practice,including the preparation before the interpreting,the choice of interpreting theory and strategies,the formulation and implementation of the interpreting plans,and the author’s post-interpreting reflection.The third part is the most important section of the whole report,which focuses on the case analysis.The author selects 26 representative interpreting examples from the translation,and mainly discusses how to interpret words with Chinese traditional cultural characteristics.Then,how to use interpreting strategies under the guidance of the interpretive theory.In addition,the author chooses some failure cases in this practice in order to provide guidance for future work.Finally,the author puts forward the puzzles that have not been solved in this practice as well as the related thinking,and some expectations for work in the future. |
