| In English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting,how to translate English long sentences has always been a difficulty.The long sentences have a significant negative impact on English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation.The author analyzed her difficulties in translating long sentences and promoted solutions,based on one SI practice.The author analyzed others’ methods and summarized some methods for handling long sentences in EC Interpreting,such as the pausing method,the complementary translation,the repetition,the functional shift and the prediction.The author analyzed this practice and analyzed her treatment of long sentences.The author has made both successful and unsuccessful translation,based on other people’s methods.After analyzing the transcript,the author also found some new methods for handling long sentences.This paper falls into five parts.The first chapter is an introduction about this task.First,the author introduced the background,then the aim and meaning of this task.The second chapter is about the process of this task.The author described the main work during various stages.In the third chapter,the author summarized others’ methods in long sentence translation.The fourth part is the analysis of the author’s practice,including the successful and unsuccessful translation,based on other people’s methods.The final part is the conclusion.The author made self-reflection and knew the future target.The importance of this practice report lies in that the author summed up her gains and losses from this practice.At the same time,the author hopes to provide some references for other interpreters. |
