With the development of information technology and the increasing of Sino-foreign cultural communication,the way people get information gets more and more diversified.In such a frequent communication,interpreting plays an important role in bridging different countries and cultures.As a window of international communication,China Daily Big Talk is widely acknowledged for its long history and interviewees with various social backgrounds as government officials,business elites and academic professionals at home and abroad.The program mainly discusses hot social issues,and is a good channel for us to know more information.This report takes the French Interpretive Theory as framework and takes the three procedures of translation proposed in the theory as starting point,namely comprehension,deverbalization and re-expression.This report discusses the interpreting practice of the talk series focused on Sino-US dialogues and cooperation from China Daily Big Talk;it analyzes the linguistic characteristics of interview such as culture-loaded words,political and economical terms,flexible sentence structure,usage of pronouns as well as vague or complicated expressions.Based on the conspicuous translation phenomenon mentioned above,the report proposes relevant translation techniques under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,including liberal translation,selecting word meaning according to the context,sequence adjustment,defining anaphora and semantic integration.Finally,it analyzes typical examples in the source material to discuss how to improve the quality of interpretation in detail,and further elaborates problems that should be paid attention to in the interpretation process from the perspective of Interpretive Theory.
