| Hindu Nationalism is a kind of nationalism trend that has great influence on society in India.It began to rise from the end of the 19th century.Under the construction of some important thinkers,it was basically mature in the 1920s and 1930s.After the independence of the country,this nationalism trend revived in the 1980s after a period of silence,and has had great impacts on Indian political,economic,diplomatic and social areas.India,as our neighbor and a big country,we must pay attention to this phenomenon and give it a correct interpretation in order to formulate a reasonable foreign policy.And to correctly understand this phenomenon,we must trace the roots of the Hindu nationalist ideology and its profound intrinsic meaning.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the construction of the ideology of Hindu nationalism in the British era,which can enrich the contents of relevant research fields and provide theoretical basis for China to formulate the correct foreign policy.This dissertation mainly studies the influence of the construction process of the ideology of Hindu nationalism and its political practice in the British period.The first chapter mainly studies the causes and manifestations of the rise of Hindu nationalism consciousness.Under the background of the deterioration of relations between Hindus and Muslim,some radical Hindus began to construct Hindu nationalism ideology and launched a series of Hindu nationalism activities.The second chapter mainly studies the formation of the ideology of Hindu nationalism through the construction of SarwarkaVinayak Damodar Savarkar and M.S.Golwakar in the context of the further deterioration of Hindu and Muslim relations.The third chapter mainly studies the political practice of the ideology of Hindu nationalism and the influences of the political practice of Hindu Mahasabha and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.In the study of the construction of the Hindu nationalism ideology in the British period,it was found that the emergence of Hindu nationalism was not only as the result of the indiscriminate integration of the two groups,but also the consequence of the Divide and Conquer Policy.The ideology of Hindu nationalism encompasses the nationalist sentiments of the establishment of Hindu state which reject all foreigners include Muslims,Christians and Britons,and also have certain extremist elements that has an inescapable responsibility for intensifying the Indian sectarian conflict and the partition of India. |
