The component is the basic unit of Chinese character,which can be used to form a modern Chinese character independently.It is greater than or equal to stroke and is less than or equal to a whole Chinese character.This paper is mainly research the following two parts in the form of a questionnaire.The first part is to study University of Khartoum's junior students,major in the department of Chinese language and literature,on their Chinese components writing error.The author analyzes the data from the questionnaire thoroughly,in order to find out the reason why the Sudanese students make errors on writing Chinese characters.By extension,the author can figure out the difficulties most junior foreign students meet in learning Chinese character.Then the author can figure out the means to solve them.The second part is to investigate teachers' attitude and methods on teaching Chinese character component.This part is mainly to find out the cause foreign students making errors in learning component from teacher's teaching.Then the author can find out the effective teaching strategies to improve the teaching quality.According to the questionnaires collected,results sorted out from the questionnaires and the generality and individuality of errors,the author divides the errors into the four following types: the increase of components,the reduction of components,the misuse of components,and the dislocation of components.The number of the students' errors were count accurately,and the author calculates the ratio of all kinds of errors are accounted for,in order to find out the high incident errors those junior students from the University of Khartoum make in learning Chinese character components.In addition,the author makes a detailed introduction to each kind of the errors and analyzes their characteristics.The ratio of errors caused by the misuse or increase of components and the ratio of errors caused by the reduction or dislocation of components vary enormously.And the misuse or increase of the components is accounted for almost 2/3 of the total errors.So,the studying of components is a big trouble for the junior Sudanese students in learning Chinese characters.This paper has six parts in total:The first part explains the reasons for the study,research significance,literature review,research methods and research innovation.The second part summarizes the basic characteristics of Chinese characters and the analysis of the components and the distribution of the components.The third part,the fourth part and the fifth part are the core of this paper.The third part gives a brief overview of the survey method and the survey object.The fourth part mainly counts the results of the questionnaire researching those junior Sudanese students and analyzes the data.The fifth part analyzes the reasons why the Sudanese junior students make components errors in writing Chinese characters in detail from the subjective and objective aspects.Finally,this paper summarizes the results of this study,and attempts to propose some suggestions and effective methods for the teachers,teaching materials and Sudanese junior students.
