On Dynamic And Visual Design Of Chinese Characters

With the continuous development of Internet and digital technique,the transmitting vector,taking new medium as technical feature,extends the audio-visual experience and representative space of flowing information.As the carrier for conveying information,the character presents the new existential state – dynamic character in the digital communication environment.Existing design system for dynamic words have developed and been established through the Western Latin system.Chinese character is difference from the characters of Western countries in configuration and aesthetic form,which has important cultural value and research significance.It is the new subject for the dynamic design of Chinese character.First of all,an introduction is made to the forms in which dynamic words exist in information dissemination.After analyzing development and design frameworks of Western dynamic words,characteristics of dynamic words in information dissemination are summarized.Next,design methods for dynamic Chinese characters are examined from the perspective of font,time and space according to morphological features of Chinese characters.Meanwhile,new presentation forms for dynamic words in visual design are explored in combination with traditional Chinese artistic forms.This paper,taking “poetry moved from between the lines” as the design theme at the end,makes ancient Chinese poem as the performance object of the design,and makes the design practice for the visualization of dynamic Chinese character.The main innovations in theories and practices from this article are as follows:Firstly,through the comparative study about the design methods of dynamic Western character,this paper puts forward the design features such as symbolization and modularization of dynamic Chinese character,and based on time dimension makes the configuration of Chinese character carry on the design expansion in the movement form.Secondly,according to the rationale of Chinese character formation and the distribution of Chinese character pattern,this paper puts forward the split principle of dynamic Chinese character taking the component as the unit,and based on the characteristic of Chinese character like the complex morphological structure,improves the dynamic design system of Chinese character on the level of semantic information transmission for Chinese character.Thirdly,by extracting and transforming the design factors in traditional Chinese art such as calligraphy,painting and poem,this paper explores the nationalized language of visual representation in the dimension of font,time and space for dynamic Chinese character.Combining with the design research method of dynamic Western character,this paper makes the corresponding expansion and transformation for the design of dynamic Chinese character.Facing the huge system architecture for Chinese character,this paper could not completely generalize the characteristics for the dynamic design of font form,and could not make the unified dynamic standard for Chinese character form in its historical evolution,but wishes to be able to offer a good starting point through the relevant research,and attract more designers to pay an attention to this issue and put it into practice.
