Objective:Observe the results of using the method of thumbtack needle combined with metoclopramide to treat the central hiccup caused by various kinds of cerebral diseases and compares the difference with the efficacy of intramuscular administration of metoclopramide hydrochloride alone.Through objectively analyzing the efficacy of the thumbtack needle combined with metoclopramide to treat the central hiccup, the clinical treatment methods will be optimized, thus a therapy that is simple in operation,widely-applied and with high safety will be provided for the patients with severe disease. Methods:The patients diagnosed as the central hiccup in the Intensive Care Units and the Department of Cerebral Surgery,Tianjin Wuqing District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, from April 2017 to December 2018,was chosen as observation subjects in this study.A total of 100 cases were selected strictly in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. It was randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 50 cases in each group. In the course of the study,1 patient was lost respectively in the treatment group and the control group,so the final number of cases completed was 49 in both groups.Guided by the principle of treating the primary disease actively, the treatment group and the control group were treated with 10 mg of metoclopramide hydrochloride injection by intramuscular injection once for three days. The treatment group was additionally treated with the thumbtack needle for subcutaneous embedding. The selected acupoints were PC6(bilateral),ST36(bilateral),SP4(bilateral),BL2(bilateral)and CV12,and the needle was changed every 2-3 days. The changes of the patients with hiccup were observed and recorded through the score table for the hiccup symptom.By the statistical analysis, such information as the general data, the quick effect within 24 hours, the comprehensive curative effect and the recurrence rate of the follow-up visit after 2 weeks were compared between the two groups. This study aims to objectively assess the treatment effect of the combined method of the thumbtack needle with metoclopramide for the central hiccup, discuss its mechanism and analyze whether this method is viable for critical cases. Results:After this study,it was found that the methods which had applied in the treatment group and the control group were effective for the central hiccup.According to the statistic analysis:1.In this study,98 cases of central hiccups were mainly caused by cerebrovascular disease(56.57%),craniocerebral injury(41.42%),and intracranial space occupation(1.1%).There was no statistically significant difference in age and gender between the two groups(P> 0.05).2.In terms of the comprehensive curative effect, the combined method used in the treatment group is more advantageous[P< 0.05].The total effective rate of the control group reached79.60%,and the overall curative rate was 46.94%.While the total effective rate of the treatment group amounted to 93.88%,and the overall curative rate was 67.35%.3.As for the short-term curative effect,no differences were recorded in the two groups [P > 0.05].4.The recurrence rate of the follow-up visit after 2 weeks was the same in both groups [P > 0.05].5.No obvious adverse events occurred in both groups. Conclusions:The combined method of the thumbtack needle with metoclopramide for the central hiccup can significantly relieve the central hiccup symptom.Compared with the control group treated only with western medicine, this method has no difference in the short-term curative effect and the recurrence rate of the follow-up visit after 2 weeks, but it is excellent in the comprehensive curative effect and the overall cure rate.In conclusion, this combined method of the thumbtack needle with metoclopramide for the central hiccup is worthy to be popularized in clinical practice. |
