Objectives: In order to explore the effects of relaxation function combined with rehabilitation therapy on the improvement of their depression anxiety and influence on daily life activities ability in convalescent stroke patients, relax work combined with rehabilitation therapy was applied to convalescent stroke patients with depression and anxiety by a randomized controlled trial. With assessments of HAMD,HAMA,Barthel index and FMA on lower limb motor function scale, try to find new treatment for anxiety depression and improve their function,as well as ability of daily life. Methods: Randomly choose 59 convalescent stroke patients with depression and anxiety in the second rehabilitation hospital of Shanghai, and the patients were randomly divided into the observation group: relaxion and rehabilitation treatment group(30)and control group: rehabilitation treatment group(29).All patients receive conventional rehabilitation, rehabilitation nursing and health education after stroke, but the observation group compared to the control group take relaxation skills training for 20 minutes a day, which lasts 8 weeks.Patients can relax themselves after they learn it before and after sleeping and eating.HAMD and HAMA scales were used to evaluate patients' emotional changes. The Barthel index was used to evaluate patients' daily activities. The FMA upper and lower limb motor function scale was used to evaluate patients' motor function changes.Results:1.Before the treatment we did a statistical analysis of age, marital status, cerebral infarction area and the onset time of first disease and so on,but there is no statistical difference(P>0.05).2.Before the treatment, there are no statistical differences of the two groups patients with HAMD ? HAMA ? FMA and Barthel index score(P>0.05).3.After 8 weeks of treatment, the HAMD?HAMA scores of the control group were lower than previous treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);The Barthel index and FMA scores were significantly higher than that previous treatment(P<0.05).4.After 8 weeks of treatment, the HAMD and HAMA scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The Barthel index and FMA scores in the observation group were significantly improved compared with those in the control group(P<0.05).5.The reduction rates of HAMD and HAMA scales in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).6.The improvement of items on the HAMD scale in the observation group, such as "depressed mood, insufficient sleep, early awakening, and feeling of ability decline" was more obvious than that of the control group(P< 0.05).The improvement of "anxiety experience, tension, insomnia, and somatic anxiety(muscle, sensation)" on the HAMA scale in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusions: 1.The incidence of post-stroke depression and post-stroke anxiety is high, which requires early intervention and treatment. In this study, the combination of psychosomatic relaxation and rehabilitation therapy for convalescent stroke patients is effective and get better results than the compared group.2.Psychosomatic relaxation combined with rehabilitation therapy for the patients is more effective than simple rehabilitation therapy on daily life activities ability and sports ability, which is relative to the improvement of the rehabilitation enthusiasm in patients, whose depression and anxity were improved.3.Psychosomatic relaxation combined with rehabilitation therapy can significantly improve the HAMD scale "depressive mood, sleep not wake up as early as possible, and decrease ability to sense" project,as well as in HAMA scale "experience anxiety, tension, insomnia, body anxiety(muscle, feel)" project.
