Clinical Observation Of The Traditional Chinese Xionggui Juanbi Decoction On The Prevention And Treatment Of Peripheral Neuropathy Canused By Vinblastine

Objective: The present study clinically observed the effect and safety of Xionggui Juanbi Decoction on the prevention and treatment of peripheral neurotoxicity caused by vinblastine chemotherapy,aimed to explore its clinical value,and to provide a more scientific and sufficient reference for the clinical application of this prescription.Methods: A total of 80 patients were enrolled in this study,all from the Department of Hematology of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine,Gansu Cancer Hospital,and all of them were treated with chemotherapy regimens containing vinblastine drugs.All patients included signed informed consent.Using a randomized controlled research method,80 patients were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was given oral methylcobalamin capsules(0.5 mg each time,3 times a day),and the treatment group was given external washing of Xionggui Juanbi Decoction(one time in the morning and evening),a treatment cycle of 21 days,and observation after 4 cycles treatment effect.We evaluate the effectiveness of the Xionggui Juanbi Decoction by observing the peripheral neurotoxicity grade,total effective rate,clinical symptoms and physical condition of traditional Chinese medicine before and after treatment in two groups of patients;at the same time we observe whether adverse reactions such as skin allergies and pigmentation occur during the treatment of both groups.To evaluate the safety of peripheral neuropathy,SPSS24.0 software was used for statistical analysis,and P <0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results: During the treatment of 80 patients included,1 patient in each of the control group and the treatment group withdrew due to intolerance of chemotherapy,and treated as a shedding case.One patient in the treatment group had poor compliance and could not cooperate with medication,so it was excluded group.Finally,a total of 77 patients(39 in the control group and 38 in the treatment group)actually entered the clinical study.The specific results are as follows:The total effectiveness of the two groups after treatment: 16 cases were cured in the treatment group,14 cases were effective,8 cases were ineffective,the total effective rate was78.95%;7 cases were cured in the control group,16 cases were effective,16 cases wereineffective,the total effective rate was 58.97%.Compared between the two groups before and after treatment,the therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P <0.05).Peripheral neurotoxicity grades in both groups were improved after treatment(P <0.05),but the treatment group was superior to the control group in reducing peripheral neurotoxicity grades and preventing disease progression(P <0.05).The clinical efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)after treatment in the two groups: 16 cases were cured in the treatment group,6 cases were markedly effective,9 cases were effective,the total effective rate was 81.58%;6 cases were cured in the control group,5cases were markedly effective,10 cases were effective,the total effective rate was 53.85%.The clinical symptoms of TCM in both groups were improved compared with before treatment(P <0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group(P <0.05).The physical status of the two groups after treatment was improved compared with that before the treatment(P <0.05),and the physical status score of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P <0.05).Safety evaluation: No adverse reactions such as skin allergies,pigmentation and scald were observed in the treatment group.Conclusion: Xionggui Juanbi Decoction by external washing can effectively reduce the severity of peripheral neurotoxicity,reduce the level of peripheral neurotoxicity,prevent disease progression,and improve the clinical symptoms.It also improved the physical condition of patients and the survival quality of sufferers was improved.Xionggui Juanbi Decoction is indeed effective,and there are no obvious adverse reactions,which can effectively improve the quality of life of patients.
