Objective:Although studies have reported the relationship between tumor deposits(TDs)and clinical prognosis in gastric cancers(GC),the consistency and magnitude of the effect of TDs remain unclear. Methods:A comprehensive online search of PubMed,Embase,Cochrane database,Web of science,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and Wanfang databases was performed to identify relevant original articles published prior to December 31,2019.Results:A total of eight eligible studies were included in this meta-analysis.The prognostic and clinical relevance of TDs with GC were examined. The pooled results revealed that TDs were significantly correlated with overall survival(OS)in GC patients.Statistical significance was also observed in subgroup meta-analysis stratified by the sample size, analysis type and follow-up time.Additionally, there were differences in lymphatic invasion, depth of tumor invasion, histologic grade, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage between GC patients with and without TDs.Conclusions:TDs would be helpful for predicting GC patients at risk of poor prognosis and bad clinicopathologic features.
