Objective: This paper analyses the hospitalized neonates information in Handan Central Hospital in 2018,including their spectrum of disease, mortality rate and the independent risk factors for death, was to provide scientific strategies for improving the levels of diagnosis and treatment, reducing mortality of neonates. Methods: A retrospective investigation of 1842 hospitalized neonates in Handan Central Hospital from January to December in 2018,using descriptive epidemiological survey method,SPSS21.0 software was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained.Results:(1)The general characteristics: The sex ratio was 1.32:1(male to female).54.5% of all hospitalized neonates were admitted in the first 24 hours after birth.Birth weight(BW)and gestational age(GA)showed a non-normal distribution respectively.the GA median(quartile intervals)was 37.6(34.6,39)w,the BW median(quartile intervals)was 2850(2140,3400)g.Preterm infants accounted for 44.8% of all hospitalized neonates, extremely premature infants accounted for 0.6% of all hospitalized neonates, low birth weight infants were 37.8%,and extremely low birth weight infants were 1.0%.(2)The perinatal stage features: 64.8% deliveries had significant prenatal risk factors. The cesarean section rate was 57.3%.(3)Birth defects: The incidence of birth defects was 9.3%.(4)The Diseases Spectrum of the hospitalized neonates: The top five diseases with the highest incidence were pneumonia(42.8%),jaundice(25.0%),intracranial hemorrhage(17.5%),sepsis(15.64%)and respiratory disease syndrome(14.4%).The incidence of pneumonia, respiratory disease syndrome, asphyxia, intracranial hemorrhage and hypoglycemia in premature infants was higher than that in term infants(P<0.01),but the incidence of jaundice and purulent meningitis in premature infants was lower than that term infants(P<0.05).(5)The treatment and outcomes: There were 56.1% infants received oxygen inhalation therapy,47.4% received assisted ventilation,91.2% received antibiotic therapy,14.7% received surfactant therapy.92.0% of the hospitalized neonates recovered or improved after treatment,1.2% the neonates requested own discharge,3.9% transferred to another hospital and 2.9% died.the average hospitalization days was 7(5,12)d,and the average hospitalization cost was10973.5(6669.9,20597.7)Yuan,showed a non-normal distribution respectively.(6)Birth defects, low gestational age,low birth weight were independent risk factors for deaths of the infants,OR values were 4.044(1.855,8.817),3.225(1.260,8.251),10.149(3.741,27.534)respectively.Conclusions: The hospitalized neonates diseases were predominantly composed of pneumonia, jaundice, sepsis, asphyxia, respiratory distress syndrome. The incidence of pneumonia, respiratory disease syndrome, asphyxia, intracranial hemorrhage and hypoglycemia in premature infants was higher than that in term infants, but the incidence of jaundice and purulent meningitis in premature infants was lower than that in term infants.Birth defects, low gestational age,and low birth weight were independent risk factors for deaths of the infants.
